If you have a booking with us in March, April & May and have not already cancelled or move it please do contact us ASAP. We are contacting all bookings that are affected by our closure as quickly as possible.

While we will try to ensure that The Traddock will continue to be the haven of comfort and luxury that it always has been, there are of course changes to how we now need to operate in order to keep our customers and our staff safe. All the below explains some of the main the steps we are taking to ensure your safety and wellbeing, as well as what will be expected from you when interacting with staff and other guests whilst in the hotel.
On entering the hotel at any time, you will be required to use the Hand Sanitiser provided at the entrance. Should you need to approach the Reception desk at any time during your stay, if there are other customers at the desk we will ask you to wait in the front lounge to maintain safe 2 metre social distancing.
Staff serving you food and beverages will now be wearing face masks and gloves.
Our bar is open but you will not be able to sit at it. We have 3 lounges and extensive gardens and patio where you can take a seat and someone will take a drinks order from you.
We are open to everyone for food, but strongly recommend booking as we have 40% less capacity than normal and are frequently fully booked. Details on menus and opening times can be found on our Restaurant pages.
Check-in is now from 3pm onwards and you will be required to vacate your room on the day of departure no later than the Check Out time of 11am, in order to allow us the full time we need to carry out additional cleaning and sanitising of bedrooms. We will no longer be able, as a matter of course, to offer assistance with your luggage. However if you do require assistance please just ask, and we can arrange for a member of staff to help. There is a Receptionist on duty from 8:30am until 5.00pm, but the Duty Manager will be able to help you outside these hours.
We will take full advantage of the generous public space we have in the hotel so that everyone can enjoy the hotel comfortably and safely while adhering to social distancing requirements. A regular cleaning and sanitising regime is being implemented throughout all public areas of the hotel and all staff have been fully trained on it. Newspapers, magazines, books, and games have been removed from all public areas. Hand sanitiser will be available through out the public areas of the hotel, and we would encourage all customers to use it regularly.
We would also respectfully ask that guests recognise the importance of the local community, and continue to follow social distancing and good hygiene practice when out and about in the local area.
You will find your sanitised room key in your bedroom, which we will ask you to retain throughout your stay to minimise the number of people who touch it. On check out we will ask you to leave the key in your bedroom. In addition to our already high standards of cleaning in the bedrooms, new cleaning protocols have been introduced to include sanitising all hard surfaces and high touch areas. The house keepers will complete a cleaning checklist prior to your arrival, and this will be left for guests when you check into your bedroom. Bedrooms will not be serviced during your stay, so that you will be the only person / people in your room for the duration of your stay. Cleaning of rooms can be requested by contacting reception if required. And if there is a maintenance issue we will be on hand to help, so please let us know.
You will find that the books and marketing materials have been removed from bedrooms, we hope you understand that this is for our guests’ safety. Hand sanitiser is available in your bedroom. Magazines for your bedroom can be provided on request, and will be available in sealed and dated packs. Beverage facilities will be provided in a sealed pack. Although your room will not be serviced unless you request it, you can have your milk, water, biscuits, etc replaced by placing them outside your bedroom by 11am.
We have reduced the number of tables available in the restaurant in order to meet the required 1 metre social distancing during dining times.
Breakfast is served from 8am – 10am. On check in, we will ask you to pre-book a time slot for breakfast. When you come down at your allocated time, we will ask you to wait to be seated so that staff can ensure that the guests are properly spaced out. We will ask you to arrive promptly at your allocated time, and stay at your table for no longer than one hour for breakfast so that we can ensure we have enough tables and space to maintain social distancing during breakfast service. There will be no continental buffet at breakfast, we will instead take orders for any juice and cereals required. Staff will take a drinks order from you, and then you will be given a sanitised Breakfast order sheet
and pen to select what you would like for breakfast, which we will collect and deal with as normal.
Dinner is served from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. We require all guests wishing to dine with us to pre-book a table and time prior to arrival. As our capacity will now be reduced to ensure we meet social distancing requirements in the dining room, we will be unable to guarantee a table if you do not book in advance. Please also ensure we have been made aware of any special dietary requirements in advance of your arrival.
When you come down for dinner at your table time, we will ask you to wait outside the restaurant to be seated. A member of staff will sit you directly in the restaurant, ensuring that customers are properly spaced out. Dinner menus will be single use paper copies. We will ask guests not to come to the bar to order drinks. Instead we will ask that you take a seat in one of our lounges, and our staff will come and take an order from you.
