7. Viognier, Trivento, Mendoza – 2007/8                                                           Argentina

Off-dry and lightly aromatic, a most pleasant and interesting wine. This wine is produced in the Argentine operation of Chile’s largest winery Concha y Toro.

8. Chardonnay/Xarel.lo, Albert I Noya, Penedes Organic - 2009                             Spain

Everyone has tasted Chardonnay before but the impact of the indigenous Xarel.lo makes this an altogether different wine-drinking experience. It’s zipper and much more invigorating - unoaked, light, fresh with a soft , round finish.

Damien Barreau is the owner & winemaker at Domaine Pajot and he loves to talk about the ‘l’ete de la Saint Martin’ which is the name of the mild, warm Autumns that they often enjoy. It’s the perfect weather for the Gros-Manseng grapes to sit on the vines that bit longer and to increase their sugar levels to help make this lightly sweet white wine. A great aperitif,  or for those that don’t like dry white wine.
